OUR STORY
The story of Antares begins with two people and one shared dream.
It brings together an Italian woman entrepreneur and a Sri Lankan hospitality professional, united by a vision to create a place that honours both heritage and harmony. For him, it was a return to his origins, a way to reconnect with the land of his childhood and to offer something meaningful to its future. For her, it was an encounter with a culture that mirrors her own values — craftsmanship, beauty, and the art of welcoming with sincerity.
Together they imagined a boutique hotel that reflects their story: intimate, responsible, and luminous. Perched above Kandy’s valley, Antares offers not only comfort but connection — a place where the traveller finds rest, and the local community finds recognition

Antares is the brightest star in the constellation of Scorpius — a point of light that has guided travellers and dreamers for centuries.
For us, it symbolises the essence of this place: a beacon of warmth, guidance, and renewal. Just as Antares lights up the night sky, our hotel seeks to illuminate the experience of travel itself — to help guests rediscover beauty, meaning, and direction in the simplest of things.
